Juan Mario  Cuéllar was born in Bogotá Colombia, He began studying classical guitar in Spain with Juan Ruano Balada and Antonio Francisco Serra. He finished his higher education at the “Conservatorio Superior Municipal de Musica de Barcelona. Spain” and he received teh “Matricula de Honor” and the accompanying prize at the end of his studies there. He also received scholarships from the Spanish Ministery of Education and Science on varius occasions. This allowed him access to such great maestros as Rafael Puyana, Reginos Sainz de la Maza, Andres Segovia, Narciso Yepes, José Luis Gonzalez and Alberto Lysi.

His Career as concert artist has developed in Europe, America and Africa: regulary performing in concert halls there. Not only his received eulogies for has concert performances but also for his arrangements for guitar and other instruments. He has also produced several Cds for chamber orquestras, choirs, duettos, and soloists. Having already produced there of his own guitar Cds, another is now begin arranged.

He has participated in international festivals and concerts in Stockholm, Denmark, England, France, The Czech Republic, Spain, Romania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Mali, Kenya, South Africa, Qatar, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, San Juan de Puerto Rico etc.
